Soliman Gamil (Arabic: سليمان جميل; b. Alexandria, Egypt, December 24, 1924; died June 13, 1994) was an Egyptian composer and qanun player. In 1963 he began to experiment with the use of Egyptian traditional musical instruments in his compositions for films and theater, in an effort to evoke the sounds of Ancient Egypt.
He also wrote about music for the Al-Ahram newspaper.
I took that from Wikipedia. I bought this album many years ago, when it came out and I've been loving it ever since, just incredibly beautiful music that I had to share. I have another album from Soliman Gamil, Ankh, and I will post that one soon too...

Here's an album from the great, late singer/comedian/actor/composer Benyamin Sueb. With Benyamin Sueb you never know what you will get, one album he's doing standard pop songs, the next album he'll be doing Gambang Kromong and the next one he's doing James Brown kind of funk. This one is pretty good, lots of at times pretty psychedelic music from Orkes Melodi Ria....
Here's an album from Broery Marantika who was a singer from Ambon, Maluku. He was born in 1948 and passed away in 2000.... A lot like that other crooner Bob Tutupoly he sang pop songs, soul, balads.... There's a nice version from Bob Dylan's Blowin' In The Wind on this one plus other covers....
Here's another collector's item, the A GO GO album from 60's all girl garage rock band Dara Puspita. I've got this in great condition only the last song has some weird noises/damage on it....
Here's another album that many, many people are looking for. Ultra-rare, the first album from 60's all-girl garage band The Singers, and I love this album, very raw garage and if you like Dara Puspita you will absolutely love this one.... I've got this one in perfect condition, only the cover is a bit damaged....

One of the most sought after albums from Indonesia is Ariesta Birawa's "first" album which is often called Indonesia's first psych album. (Enteng Tanamal was already doing some pretty psych-y stuff for some years when that album came out). If you manage to find it, the original version on vinyl, it can set you back 2000 maybe 2500 dollar (Jakarta price). What most people don't know is that before that album they already released this album and back then Mus Mulyadi, the later King Of Krontjong, was a member of the band, and this is a great, great 60's garage album and very, very rare. You're in luck because I've got a copy in absolute mint-condition....
Well, I got very, very lucky this week, scored some unbelievable records, records from the Singers, Benyamin s. Ariesta Birawa, Oslan Husein, lot's of 60's garage and all in excellent condition. One of those records is this one, ultra- ultra rare and much in demand, The Beach Girls, one of those 60's early 70's all-female garage/psych bands like Dara Puspita and The Singers, and there's a lovely version of Shocking Blue's song Venus on this one. Got this in an incredible good condition....
