DARSO, RINA & DEWI - NYINTING

Re-posting this AMAZING cassette from Darso and I still find it hard to even describe this one, Sundanese traditional music, pop Sunda mixed with some unbelievable psych-influenced guitar playing. In my 15 years or so of crate digging here I have only once seen this cassette, it really is very, very rare and I'm not even sure if this was even released way back....

GET IT HERE

enjoy!

  3. I´ve been obsessed with this tape for weeks! Still haven't found any info...it would appear Darso's Calung recordings totally eclipsed this tape...but who were the Tarpi guys? and Rina-Dewi? Henk, the wah-guitar most likely was a result of hearing Hendrix, but Gobang gosir really reminds me of the stooges! Thank you so much for sharing this (terimah kasih Erwin Edwar! Erwin's YT uploads brought me here!)

  4. question: Henk, what do you know about Asmara records? do they still exist? were/are they based in Bandung?

  5. Can't tell you much about the other people playing on this crazy obscure tape and I've got a feeling that maybe it was a test tape or something, I've never seen it again, anywhere... I think Asmara was based in either Bogor or Jakarta, I've got a whole bunch of master tapes from Asmara and those came from Bogor....
