I'm not sure if the Combo Inder was Indonesian. The first song on this nice 7" is called Indonesia but all the songs are in Spanish, the band leaders name was Carlos Faxas and the songs werewritten by Senen Suarez, A. Dominguez, Oswaldo Farres and Bebo Valdes and they also called themselves Cuarteto Los Modernistas.... Might be that they were a band from South America playing here, at a hotel or some such place....

But this is very nice music!

Now the sound quality of this records is terrible, but then again, this is a record that came out in 1927!!

Miss Riboet was the first huge star of recording in Indonesia and the Malay peninsula. She was the lead actress of the Orion theatrical company, a tooneel troupe which was founded in 1925 in Batavia (Jakarta). In fact, she was so popular that by the time recording engineer Max Birkhahan made this recording in 1926 she already had her own series of “Miss Riboet Records.
