Joe Loco was the guy who first came out with a mambo record in the US, Tenderly it was called, came out in '51 and in '53 he came out with the first cha cha record.... He was playing the trombone in Count Basie's band when he was 17 years old and later played with some other greats like Xavier Cugat.... Nice album this, came out in '59... Not the hard and heavy mambo from Perez Prado (which I prefer) but there's a few really nice one's on this one, like the tune Ja Da Cha Cha Cha.... Check it out....
