Fantastic jathilan cassette from the Kudho Praneso group from Middle Java... Jathilan, Kuda Lumping, Reog, all trance dancing where dancers go into a deep, deep trance, get possesed by spirits and change into a variarity of animals, tigers, monkey's, buffalo, and it can get WILD...
Here, in the village where I live they call it Kuda Lumping and they do it around 4 to 6 times a year, right in the front of my house where there's a volley ball field and I love it, the music is amazing, the atmosphere can get incredibly heavy, dancers go into their trance, they vomit, they eat glass, they tear coconuts apart with their teeth, they roll in the dust, they've got half a meter of snot hanging from their noses, it's wild, and you gotta be a bit careful, they will blindly run into you at full speed or they can bite...

Anyplace this sort of thing goes on suggests a place I should consider living in on a permanent basis.
