LET'S SWING - DUTCH TELEAC COURSE IN JAZZ
A box with two jazz records, a huge book and a double sided card with movable parts put out in 1984 by Teleac. Teleac (Televisie Academie) was a Dutch organization that brought educational programs to Dutch radio and tv. They also gave many, many courses, and this one is a course about the history of jazz in general and Dutch jazz, half of the book that comes with this is about that. It also teaches musicians how to play jazz and that's what the second part of the book is all about. The card with movable parts, called the "Ei van Co" (the egg from Co) is a method to learn how to play, for piano, solo guitar, ukelele/banjo, mandolin, violin, tenor guitar, string bass and bass guitar....
I actually did a Teleac course myself, many, many years ago, in another life, back around 1991 when I was still working as a graphic designer, it was a course about desk-top publishing, graphic design on a computer which, at that time, was all very new, I worked as a graphic designer for 5 years and we did everything by hand, repro-camera's and all that....
Here's the first record, 9 blues and jazz songs by Dutch artists....
GET IT HERE
Here's the second record, two times the same songs, the second side only the rhythm section playing the songs so you can play solo along with the songs....
GET IT HERE
Enjoy!
