The hero of a tragic love story from Jiangnan, China. He becomes best friends with the man-dressed Zhu Yingtai during his studies, and later falls in love with him when he discovers that Zhu Yingtai is a woman, but he marries someone else and Liang Shanbo dies of longing. When the bride's procession approached his grave, the tomb was torn open and Zhu Yingtai jumped into it. When she fought off his attempts to hold her back, her kimono scattered and she turned into a butterfly. The story originated in the Tang dynasty and later spread through theatre and storytelling, with variations in content, such as the two transforming into a pair of red and black butterflies. The Yue opera and the Qinshu are well-known.

The Chinese idiom, pinyin is lóng xiáng fèng wǔ, which means Judas Dragon Flying Phoenix Dancing. Originally, it describes the meandering majesty of mountains, but later it also describes the powerful, flexible and stretching strokes of calligraphy. From ‘Yunlu Manzu’ by Zhao Yanwei, Song Dynasty

This perfomance is Very unlike these majestic sights.
