Singer Bai Sha is from Taiwan and has opened up the Southeast Asian market with her song ‘Not Going Home Today’. Bai Sha is very popular and has made records in Singapore.
The ‘Taiwan Jade Lady’ Baisha once sang at the ‘Sea Palace Nightclub’ in Singapore in 1970. Punggol had a wonderful nightlife in the 1970s, and the most glamorous nightclub at that time was the Sea Palace Restaurant Nightclub, which was built on the sea in Qui Gong. The nightclub had a free ferry to transport customers, magic and acrobatic shows, and a residency for overseas singers. It is said that when the Taiwanese singer Baisha was in residence for a long period of time, customers would sing her famous song ‘Not Going Home Today’ almost every night, and the ‘Punggol Hotel Restaurant and Nightclub’, which was opened in 1970, has a double-dragon spitting pool and a double-dragon pavilion garden outside the hotel for people to visit, as well as a restaurant, a singing stage and a swan ballroom, a children's playground, and a boat rental and water-skiing activity. There are also yacht rental and water skiing activities, which can be said to be a comprehensive leisure and entertainment centre.
