Holland, the son of Chan Cheung-kan, and his uncle Smiling Tiger come to Hong Kong from Holland to avenge Chan Cheung-kan's death. Smiling Tiger seizes Tung's drugs and drug trafficking records, and enters Tung's house with Holland to kill Tung. Holland is killed by Tung's assassins. Smiling Tiger escapes with injuries and asks for Leung Ka Lun's protection, promising to hand over Tung's drug trafficking records. Leung Ka Lun's girlfriend, Pui Shan, is attacked at home and the records of Tung's drug trafficking that Leung Ka Lun brought with him are snatched by the assassin. Superintendent Ling blames Leung Ka Lun for being impulsive and causing trouble before his retirement, and orders Leung Ka Lun to take a leave of absence for three months. The Smiling Tiger decides to kill Tung on his own, but he is run over by the assassin's car. Leung Ka-lun follows Tung and scares him with a fake gun. When Tung confesses to the crime, Superintendent Ling arrives with a group of police officers and takes the credit for arresting Tung, while Karen Leung leaves alone.
Film Reviews The word ‘grey jumping’ is a triad code word for retailing drugs, and Siu Fong-fong admitted that the film was made with the intention of pinpointing the current evils and reflecting the drug-ridden and chaotic situation in Hong Kong at that time. The film creates a documentary style of filming in Hong Kong, and makes a bold attempt on the filming techniques. The film uses monochrome colour filters to express emotions, a lot of tactless editing and zoom shots, and a lot of wind and percussion music to portray the image of an anti-hero by means of ‘parody’. The film changed the lingering ‘nostalgia’ and unchanging martial arts style of Hong Kong films in the past, and expressed modern consciousness in an almost documentary style. It can be said that the breakthroughs in the details and aspects of the film were a good model for the later comprehensive innovation of the New Wave, and the determination and courage of Hong Kong filmmakers to reform Hong Kong cinema can also be seen. The film seems to have spawned quite a few hits. Typical example is this song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CiKpEynlCk It's far from the Hong Kong version of Shaft or Superfly. It's Mandarin Mandarin Mandarin World, man!!
