This, to me, is one of THE best rock and funk albums ever released in Indonesia and it's weird, but nobody ever talks about it and it's just beyond me how this has never been re-released. Maybe because it's so hard to find and it only, as far as I know, came out on cassette. It's James Brown meets the Rolling Stones, blues, disco, prog-rock, funk, all on one album by Gito Rollies and Deddy Stanzah. This is a bootleg tape, probably a copy of a copy but the sound quality is still pretty much ok.... GET IT HERE Enjoy!

WOW! - PRODUK HIJAU

Here's a band that Fariz RM was in in the 80's, Wow!, Fariz was playing the drums, Iwan Madjid on vokal, piano and Keyboard and Darwin B Rachman on bass and this album only came out on cassette, in 1983, but they also pressed a limited number of copies on vinyl for radio stations with less songs and this is one of those copies... Great stuff, very typical Fariz RM Jakarta jazz-pop/progressive rock pop and very, very rare.... GET IT HERE Enjoy!

Here's Harry Sabar's 1979 prog-rock album Lentera, a promotional vinyl copy for radio stations it only came out on cassette officially.... Quite a bit of amazing music on this one.... KELOMPOK KAMPUNGAN - MENCARI TUHAN

Here's the cassette version from Kelompok Kampungan's 1980 album Mencari Tuhan.... I posted the vinyl version HERE this version has a few more songs.... The vinyl and cassette are extremely rare, they both start out with the song Bung Karno, about Indonesia's first president Sukarno and it uses parts of a speech he made in 1964.... The Suharto regime was not amused and ordered all copies destroyed and banned the album and banned the band from performing.... It's a fantastic album, mixing prog-rock with folk and some traditional music.... GET IT HERE Enjoy!

RAWE RONTEK - BERDIRI DIATAS PANGGUNG

Here's a bootleg cd from 70'd prog-rockers Rawe Rontek and these guys had quiet a show when they played, the singer, St. Bachtiar Taher used to put on a real traditional Debus show: http://cometoindonesia.blogspot.com/2008/01/traditional-debus-banten-indonesia.html Apparently these shows were quiet a spectacle and from what I know the guy had scar tissue all over his body...
