H. IDJAH HADIDJAH - BULUDRU HIDEUNG
Ok... So It's time for another Sundanese great one, H. Idjah Hadidjah (which is the old spelling of her name which now is often spelled Hidijah) was born in Karawang in 1956. She started out as a sinden (female singer) in the wayang group Panca Komara from her husband, Rd. H. Tjetjep Supriadi in 1972 and she studied singing with Dedeh Winingsih as her teacher (I've also read somewhere that she also studied with Nyai Sumiati).... Her big days of fame came in the 1980's when Gugum Gumbira hired her to start singing with his Jugala Group and she had a hit with the song Daun Pulus Keser Bojong and a bit of international fame with her rendition of the song Tonggeret.... She's still living in Karawang, a city half-way between Jakarta and Bandung and still performs with her husband's wayang group Panca Komara....
One of my favorite sinden, I've got a nice little selection of her cassettes and will re-record all the dead links and re-post them together with the ones that have still working links, this will take some time, specially with internet being God-awful slow specially in the evenings lately....
Starting things off with this cassette, Buludru Hideung, with the Jugala Group and Suwanda playing the kendang and Mang Samin as the male singer (alok).....
Link removed because of copyright issues
