TITIM FATIMAH, MIMI MARYAMI & BHINEKA TUNGGAL IKA GROUP - MODJANG PRIANGAN

A kliningan album from Titim Fatimah with Inen Saputra and the Bhineka Tunggal Ika Group with Mami Maryami and Oman. The photograph used is from my personal collection, an original photograph of a young Titim Fatimah when she was singing for the wayang puppet player Dalang Gandaatmadja. She is sitting on an elevated platform and this is around 1959. People wouldn't come to watch the wayang performances anymore, they would come to see Titim Fatimah sing (and the same thing was happening with performances by Upit Sarimanah). This enraged the Dalangs and for a while some of the more famous ones, like R. Barnas Soman refused to perform. This incident was called the "Krisis Sinden"....
