ORKES GUMARANG - KAMPUNG NAN DJAUH DI MATA

Here's an album from Orkes Gumarang. These guys started in the 50's and were active untill the 70's and they pioneered a whole new genre called Sumatran Mambo. They took the stuff that artists like Perez Prado were putting out and mixed it up with their own Minangkabau (the area around Padang in West-Sumatera) traditional songs.... Beautiful, beautiful music that was taken up by the likes of the great Oslan Husein.... GET IT HERE Enjoy!
