Here's a great dangdut album from Rhoma Irama and Elvy Sukaesih with Orkes Melayu Soneta, this is a Malaysian pressing. The first song, "Dangdut" is actually the song that gave the dangdut genre it's name, probably the most covered song in Indonesian music history and it was actually taken from a song out of a Bollywood movie from Raj Kapoor, sung by Lata Mangeshkar.... Before this song the genre was basically called Orkes Melayu, after this song... well... it all became dangdut.... This pressing is from 1975, the original Indonesian pressing is from, if I'm not mistaken, 1972 or 1973....
