Enjoy!
香港中国国乐团 - 春之舞曲 Hong Kong Chinese National Orchestra - Dance for Spring
the liner says This record is a collection of 12 Chinese songs popular among the people.
Title song is interlude of the film "Spring and Autumn on an Island 孤岛春秋" sung by Bai Hong:白虹. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rQl_ztV9qM
白虹:Bai Hong Bai Hong enjoyed the reputation of "Queen of Singing" in the Shanghai pop music scene in the 1930s and 1940s. Her tone was rich and pure, rich in flavour, and her representative repertoire included "Lang is the Wind of Spring", "The Descent of Spring", "Floating in the Sea of People", "Moonlight on the River", etc. She was also one of the most famous singers in Shanghai in the 1930s and 1940s.
Hi CoverHeaven, yes, and I've been doing that for years.... Thing is, since a while we have what has become kind of a feature here. We have our friend Yoshio from Japan finding out info about pretty obscure (mostly) Chinese records and telling wonderful stories about those records. I think quite a few visitors are really enjoying his writing and musings. I know I do! So..... Instead of going to discogs I will often just post stuff and Yoshio comes in and tells his wonderful stories.... It's just one of those things that spontaneously happen and it's a wonderful thing :)
Please don't expect me too much. I thank Mr.Huang who come from Shenzhen to work in a nearby hotel. He has a microchip implanted in his body and can use a single smartphone for all his identity documents, from passport to driving licence. He is more futurist than Chinese. I may be sleepwalking at times.Because the first thing I do when I wake up is decipher the mystery records. yoshio
Tell Mr. Huang thank you from me too!!! :) Well, I'm very grateful and I'm sure others are too Yoshio! I'm having fun doing this with you, so far you have managed to find every album I have posted which, seeing how incredibly obscure some of them are is pretty amazing... And learning quite a bit too :) Hope I can keep finding these weird records for a while longer...
I guess you could call it improvisation played by life. Come on.I'm standby. I have not yet dreamt about unknown mad record. When I wake up from sleep ....
Devil's Wonderland I think I can translate it better. Somewhere between Devil's Magic Band and Black Magic Orchestra.... All the while my mind is searching for answers. Selamat malam. yoshio
