I'm so excited! This has become one of my favorite groups ever.
Hank, I recently read an notification in an Indonesian music group on LastFM, telling musicians in Jakarta to submit their music. They seemed pretty cutting edge, but then they say - NO DANGDUT ALLOWED!
Are people down on Dangdut in Indonesia? What is up? Thanks - Dolmance.
Hi Hank - I'm going to finish up some writing here and then I'll be free to travel. I look forward to several months in Bandang where I plan to write my next novel, though the story will certainly not take place in Bandung because I've never even met an Indonesian. (Weird to never meet an Indonesian yet be immersed in their music)
Anyway, I am looking forward to staying at your hotel. I think I'll bring one of my kids along too. I cannot go through this life and not know Indonesia - which I attribute entirely to your influence. I assume I can pick up two important items when I'm there - a good amplifier and a gambus. Best - Dolmance.
Well, if all goes well we're taking over the place september first and then start renovating, installing hot water in the rooms, lots and lots of other stuff to do as well, I'll probably won't be blogging as much when it all starts.... I'll be going to Holland for about a month, I think around october, maybe november.... There's lots and lots to see around here, I'm very fond of Pangandaran myself and as faras music goes there's always something going on somewhere here, be it jaipong or rock music:)
