SPEEDTWINS - IT'S MORE FUN TO COMPETE

I bought this album when I was 13:) Which was in 1978... Dutch punk band the Speedtwins and what a great album this is!!!

Taken from their website:

One of the original initiators of the band was Jodie Daniƫl, a British singer/songwriter and former (folk) street musician. Traveling across Europe he ended up living in Arnhem, Netherlands when punk made its shocking entrance in the underground music scene.

The name for the band was taken from the classic British motorcycle ‘Triumph Speed Twin’, as motorbikes were Jodie’s obsession (he owned several classic bikes).

Tragically that very same obsession proved to be fatal; Jodie’s life ended after a motorcycle accident.

Here's their website, chock full with photo's, unreleased songs and video's:

If I remember correctly Dutch radio personality Alfred Lagarde produced this album and they took of his name from the label for tax reasons, he used to have a heavy metal show called "Beton" and every tuesday I would hurry back home from school to listen to it, must've been around '76, '77....

Here's the album:

Enjoy!
