ALYUMAR - KABA SITI BAHERAM 1

Here's a rabab pariaman cassette from Alyumar from the Minang area in West Sumatera, looks like it's the first of a series of cassettes, unfortunately I only have this one.... Alyumar playing the rebab, a snare instrument, and singing the story of Siti Baheram, a rich woman from the Pariaman village of Sungai Pasak who, on 11 November 1916, was robbed and murdered. They caught two suspects, a gambler named si Joki, who was one of the victim’s relatives, and his friend named Si Ganduik. Si Joki was hung and Si Ganduik was send to prison for a couple of years by the Dutch colonial government. It's a story that's still quiet famous in Pariaman and surroundings.... This cassette was in rough shape, hardly any sound, but after a few days emerged in water and after cleaning it up it's now good enough for me to post it.... GET IT HERE Enjoy!
