THE GENIUS OF CHARLIE PARKER

This album was originally released on Savoy just after Parker's death in 1955. It collects prime Bird, both out-takes and masters, from half a dozen sessions recorded between 1945 and 1948. A very young Miles Davis and Max Roach are on hand for 10 of the 14 cuts. Bud Powell, John Lewis, Duke Jordan, Curly Russell, and Tommy Potter also put in appearances on various tracks. These are historic and were, at the time, revolutionary performances with Bird in first-rate form on familiar tunes like "Donna Lee," "Koko," and "Chasing the Bird." An added treat is the inclusion of four fascinating numbers featuring Parker and Dizzy Gillespie sitting in with guitarist/vocalist Slim Gaillard's group. Diz and Bird join Gaillard for some humorous romps through his highly original songbook, including his classic "Flat Foot Floogie." With a short introduction by All "Jazzbeau" Collins at the beginning of the record.... GET IT HERE enjoy!!!!

ARMANDO & HIS ORCHESTRA - CHAMPAGNE FOR DINNER

Armando Trovajoli (also Trovaioli) (2 September 1917 - 28 February 2013), was an Italian film composer and pianist with over 300 credits as composer and/or conductor, many of them jazz scores for low-budget exploitation films of the Commedia all'italiana genre. He collaborated with Vittorio De Sica on a number of projects, including one segment of Boccaccio '70. Trovajoli was also the author of several Italian musicals: among them, Rugantino and Aggiungi un posto a tavola. Trovajoli was the widower of actress Pier Angeli. He died in Rome at the age of 95 on 28 February 2013.... Here's his 1955 album Champagne For Dinner.... GET IT HERE enjoy!

Albert "Al" Nevins, born Albert Tepper (3 May 1915 – 25 January 1965), was an American musician, producer, arranger, guitarist and violinist. He was also a member of a pop trio called the Three Suns, and is considered one of the major forces behind the evolution of the 1950s music into the early 1960s pop/rock music. And what a beautiful album this is, magical soundscapes, sometimes jazzy, sometimes dreamy.... This album came out in 1956.... GET IT HERE enjoy!
