A cassette honoring the life and career of Miss Tjitjih, born in 1908, who was a singer, dancer and actress from Sumedang in West-Java known for her great talent and exceptional beauty. She was discovered by Aboebakar Bafaqih and she joined his Valencia Opera theater group in the 1920's and later became his wife. She passed away in 1936 from tuberculosis.... MENIR MOEDA 78'S

Here are 9 beautiful 78's from Menir Moeda, his real name was Holil. The ones from Canary Records came out in the 1930's, not sure about the one from Odeon, could be 1920's or 1930's and the ones from Irama probably came out in the late 1940's or 1950's. Menir Moeda pioneered the Jenaka Sunda genre, basically telling and singing humorous stories accompanied by kecapi playing often using sésébréd (lighthearted, satirical verse) or sisindiran (pantun-style humor) to provide amusement and social commentary....
