Well, in a few days the Ramadhan will start and I always love that month. For one, there's always less traffic here in Bandung and every day my wife and daughter get up around 3 AM to eat. I always do two specials every year, one at Christmas and one when the Ramadhan starts and this year I've got some really nice music for you.....

SJEF VAN OEKEL - OEI, OEI, DAT WAS LEKKER
Sjef van Oekel was a popular TV comedy character created by Dutch artist Wim T. Schippers and played by Dutch comedian, singer and actor Dolf Brouwers (1912–1997). Van Oekel started as a side character in De Fred Hachéshow in 1972, but became such a cult figure that he gained his own television show, Van Oekel's Discohoek, songs and even a comic strip, all written by Schippers.
Well, that was from wikipedia....
When I was a kid we always watched his shows, if my grandparents were there they would often get get up-set, it was total craziness, outrageous and incredibly funny....

KARYA CIPTA: ISMAIL MARZUKI VOL. 2
Ismail Marzuki (also known as Bang Ma'ing; 11 May 1914 – 25 May 1958) was an Indonesian composer, songwriter and musician who wrote between 202 and 240 songs between 1931 and 1958, including numerous popular patriotic songs. Among his best-known works are "Gugur Bunga" and "Rayuan Pulau Kelapa". In 1968, he was honoured with the creation of the well-known Taman Ismail Marzuki (the Ismail Marzuki Park, often called TIM) which is a cultural centre in Menteng in central Jakarta. In 2004 he was declared one of the National Heroes of Indonesia.

Well, we've lost another one of the greats of yesteryear, last night Deddy Dores passed away at age 65. He played in many, many bands, Freedon Of Rhapsodia, God Bless, Superkid to name a few.... Here's an album from his old band Freedon (they dropped the Of Rhapsodia with this album), he's the one with the sunglasses.... Posted this one a long, long time ago, here's a better copy....

Well, back in Indonesia again. Here are two 7 inches from Achmad Albar's old band Clover Leaf. He was with them from 1968 till 1972 when he was staying in Holland. They had a couple of hits, and these 7 inches are quiet rare....
