Love these crazy 78s! I've been following your blog for some time and now I have one of my own, featuring Indian Classical Music. Your blog is listed on my blog as one I follow and I was wondering if you could do the same for me.
Thanks again for all the hard work you put into all this!
My blog is at: http://flatblackandclassical.blogspot.com
Hello, I'm Andreas Sitompul, a young musicologist from Indonesia. The "Dolok Martimbang" music you posted here was part of our historical lost culture of early popular music recordings. I would like to do more research and analysis on the subject thoroughly, is there any more information about the owner of the 78s, or the existence of the recordings? I already downloaded the tracks, and now listening through my computer, it's beautiful by the way. Thank you very much, best regard from North Sumatra, Indonesia 🙂

ReplyDeleteHi Andreas, Can't really help you there, you might try searching for Philip Yampolsky, he wrote lots about Indonesian 78's.... And you are welcome :)
