Elly Khadam this time.... Singer, composer, band leader and actress Ellya Khadam (also known as Ellya Agus or Ellya M. Harris) was born with the name Siti Alya Husnah in Jakarta in 1928 and she passed away in Bogor in 2009. She was one of THE important figures in the developmewnt of the Orkes Melayu genre (and later dangdut), starting out as a singer with Orkes Kelana Ria in the late 50's she gained much prominence after penning her succes hit Boneka Dari India and soon was leading her own groups. She was heavily influenced by Bollywood music as you will hear in these posts to come....
