INDONESIA, ITS MUSIC AND ITS PEOPLE
This is such a great album, narrated by the lovely Miss Christobel Weerasinghe it covers gamelan music from Java and Bali, krontjong music, angklung music and some songs from Sumatera and Sulawesi... There's even a composition from Colin McPhee performed by the Eastman-Rochester Symphonic Orchestra. Most of the recordings are field recordings by Ruby Ornstein, ethno-musicologist and a member of the Department of Music, Queens College of the City University of New York....
