YAO SU RONG SPECIAL

Yao Su Rong, also known as Yao Su Yong, Yiu So Yung and Yao Soa Yong was born in Taiwan in 1946. She rose to fame in the late 60's but was already recording and acting in movies before that. Some of her work is just amazing and I'm going to give you all the music I have found from her so far.... She's retired for quiet some time and lives a quiet and peaceful life in Singapore....

KI NARTOSABDHO - KLENEGAN NDANGDUT TAKIR PONTANG

Here's a nice cassette from Ki Nartosabdho, one of the giants of Middle-Javanese music, most of the cassette is a bit of the usual Ki Nartosabdho fare but the first song is way, way more swinging that his usual stuff (which is always great)and I've been playing it over and over tonight loving it....

LOS CHAKACHAS - RECORDED IN EUROPE

The Chakachas were a Belgian based group of Latin soul studio musicians. Also known as Les Chakachas or Los Chakachas, they were formed by bandleader Gaston Bogaert, ex-Los Juano Boengs and The Continentals, percussion (conga and tumba); Tito Puente's singer wife Kari Kenton, vocals and maracas; Vic Ingeveldt (a Dutchman from Liege), saxophone; Charlie Lots, trumpet; Christian Marc, piano; Henri Breyre, guitar and backing vocals; and Bill Raymond, bass guitar. All were native to Schaarbeek (a district of Brussels), or nearby Charleroi, Willebroek and Liege.

BAND C'BLUES

Here's an album from Bandung band C'blues, this came out in 1972 and they always mention this band when they talk about Indonesian psych. Personally I wouldn't call C'blues a psych band, they're way more like The Mercy's and a bit like Freedom Of Rhapsodia... Got this one without the cover and the B side looks like they did a tap-dance contest on it but the recording came out pretty good, only a few little skips on that side....
