Gending music goes really deep, there are many, many different forms. Here's a Uyon Uyon Mataram cassette from Ki Suparman and Uyon Uyon Mataram is a style developed at the court of the Sultan from Yogyakarta. Often there are humoristic elements, story telling and dances..... I've always been very deep into Sundanese traditional music, the traditional music from West-Java, but slowly I'm starting to read more, learn more about the music from Middle and East Java and it's fascinating really.....
