(03)The Moon is High’ is a famous ancient Chinese pipa piece, the date and author of which are unknown. It is said to have been composed by Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, and its background is similar to that of the “Neishang Yuyi Song”. Its background is similar to that of the ‘Nei Shang Yu Yi Song’. The earliest surviving score is a piece in the handwritten manuscript ‘Gao He Jiang Dong’ from the Jia Jing period of the Ming Dynasty, which was later adapted into folk orchestral and guzheng compositions, and it is a superb depiction of the moon in the art of instrumental music.
(06)Being Booked Upstairs’ is one of the more widely circulated pieces in the suite ‘Eighteen Beats of Hu Jia’. Through variations and other treatments, the rhythm is even more ancient and elegant, touching the heart, and now it has become a classic piece of Teochew's fine music. The rapid pipa, and a stallion neighing erhu, and finally take a look at the scenery outside the plug, and return to Han with emotion. The erhu is cool and distant, recalling emotionally the twelve spring and autumns of life outside the Seychelles, and looking unexpectedly longingly towards the long road home. The pipa is sometimes mellow, sometimes mute, as if looking forward to the Han embroidery building and book building with joy, and inadvertently dropping tears. The memories of the Han family and the life in the Hu land intertwine complex emotions, rising and falling with the tune, leaving behind a legendary woman's perseverance and wisdom in the echo of erhu and pipa
(07)Double Bite Goose It is a traditional gong and drum music that was discovered and compiled in the 1950s. The music, in the form of an ensemble of suona and gongs and drums, expresses the interesting scenes of the folk goose fights during the festivals, and the echoing of the two suona, which vividly portrays the lovely image of the lion-headed goose, makes the theme more prominent and rich in life atmosphere. yoshio
