Wang Yue Sheng, originally from Chongqing, Sichuan, was born on 8 January 1919 (the 7th day of the 12th month in the year of Wu Wu on the lunar calendar); his parents named him Yue Sheng because he was born in Guangzhou. History His father, Chunhou, was an instructor at the Whampoa Military Academy. His mother, Qian Ruifang, came from a large official family with many sisters, and was trained in music and liked to play the western zither. It is likely that his mother's influence at an early age contributed to his proficiency in playing the western zither.
In addition to his singing career, he has also worked as an accompanist in Cantonese opera troupes such as the Jue Xian Sheng Theatre Troupe and the Tai Lung Fung Theatre Troupe. In addition, he has also appeared in films such as ‘The Fate of the Furious’, ‘When in Rome, Do as the Romans Do’, and ‘Qiao Taishou's Messy Tale of the Mandarin Ducks’, to name a few. He is a musical prodigy, specialising in violin, yangqin, guzheng, jazz drums, saxophone and pipa. He has composed or adapted more than a hundred ditties and Cantonese operas, among which ‘Tears of the Red Candle’, ‘Silver Pond Spitting’, ‘Complaints of the New Terrace’ and ‘Autumn Thoughts on the Make-up Terrace’ are among the most popular. Wang contributed a lot to music and Cantonese opera education, and her students included Red Thread Daughter, Lam Ka-sing, Nan Fung, Yin Fei-yan, Lo Ka-ying and Nam Hung. He was a great contributor to Cantonese opera, but unfortunately he contracted cancer in his later years and died on 12 December 1989 at the age of seventy .
